Student Wellbeing
At our college, student wellbeing is not just a priority – it’s a way of life.

What we offer Students
Pastoral care at Faith is rich with opportunity and positive outcomes for students across all year levels.
From the camping program, service learning and pastoral care electives through to career pathways and opportunities for student agency.
Students at Faith are supported through relationship to develop a deep sense of belonging and ownership for their own pathways and connection with the broader community.
Central to our pastoral care program is learning how to build and restore healthy relationships that recognise, value and take responsibility for the impact we have on others.
Restorative Practice
Relational management at Faith is built on Restorative Practices, which requires that all members of our community acknowledge their role in re-building healthy relationships if harm has been caused.
We know that students learn best, and teachers teach best when relationships are healthy and harm is being resolved in genuine ways. The restorative approach gives victims voice and holds accountable those who have caused harm. This approach has decades of research connected with it that support its use in a wide range of context including schools, and this approach has been used for many years at Faith to build a culture of care and genuine resolution for students and their families.

UBUNTU Program
The Ubuntu program at Faith is the name of the Year 9 program that focuses on growth of each student and their connections with one another. The program spans the year, and incorporates 4 major elements. Students begin the year by sharing their personal stories with their peers followed by the Rock and Water program, fostering self-awareness and confidence; the Drumbeat program, enhancing social and emotional learning through rhythm; and finishing the year with the Mt Binga outdoor education experience. Mt Binga empowers students through a comprehensive four-week camping program to develop resilience, leadership, and a deep sense of community. The year 9 Ubuntu program is a foundation year and its positive impact echo’s through and beyond the schooling experience of Faith graduates.
Mt Binga Camp
During the final term of year 9 all students participate in the Mount Binga’s four-week outdoor education camping experience! Students engage with lots of practical skills including rock climbing, bushwalking, navigation, farm life and meal preparation. But the true focus is to empower, motivate and challenge every student to discover their potential through activities and community. The College provides several preparation activities for students and family for the Mt Binga camp, including information and Q&A sessions, mentoring, one-on-one meetings with Binga staff and regular information sharing.
