Readers Cup

On Tuesday June 8, we had 5 keen readers compete in the Year 7/8 Brisbane Bayside Regional Readers Cup Competition. Prior to competition day students were required to read and closely study five set texts. On the day, teams competed in a trivia-style event answering questions about each of the books. Students also had the opportunity to hear author Richard Yaxley speak about writing. Congratulations to Charlotte Boyce, Rachael Hirst, Summer Olesen-Warltier, Kelly Orendain and Summer Hammond for their excellent efforts. We also wish our Year 5/6 team well, as they have their turn next week.

The Premier's Reading Challenge – Prep-Year 9

It’s fantastic to see forms already being returned for the Premier’s Reading Challenge. Students need not stop at the end of the first page – they are able to come and collect extra forms from the libraries. Students have until August 27 to return their forms.

Lighthouse Café - Secondary School

Canteen staff serve breakfast at the Lighthouse Café on the Secondary Campus each morning between 7:45 and 8:20am. Hot chocolates are now available. An excellent option for students coming to school early for training or rehearsals.

Homework Club – Secondary School

A teacher is available in the Lighthouse from 3:10pm-4:25pm on Monday and Thursday afternoons for basic tutoring / help with homework. Students who wish to attend must go straight to the Lighthouse after school and sign in. At the end of tutoring, students should be picked-up from the top carpark or make their way home using other modes of transport.

eBooks – a good option for holiday reading

Year 1-12 students at Faith have access to a shared collection of eBooks through our Wheelers ePlatforms. Download the app or read books directly through your browser – you’ll find instructions on the home pages below. eBooks are available 24/7, easily transported and will never be overdue. They are a great option when travelling, or just when students would like a change or can’t find a hard copy of a book they really want to read.
