Opening Hours – Junior School

The Junior School Library is open from 8:15am-3:15pm. Students are welcome to change their library books outside their normal library lesson times.

Opening Hours – Secondary School

The Secondary School Lighthouse is open as follows:

Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm
Tuesday and Friday 7:30am-3:30pm

Students are asked to sign in and out if staying in the afternoon.

The Premier's Reading Challenge

Then College has again registered to participate in the Premier's Reading Challenge, which begins on Monday. This is an annual state-wide initiative for Queensland students from Prep-Year 9, which aims to improve literacy and encourage reading for pleasure and learning. Last year, over 161,000 Queensland children completed the challenge, reading over 2.2 million books! This year, the reading period begins on May 9 and runs through until August 26, with certificates sent out in November. Students in the Junior School will receive a letter and reading record form next week, whilst interested students in Years 7-9 can pick one up from the Lighthouse. Please encourage and help your child to keep a record of the books they read and then return the completed form to either of our libraries.

Lunchtime Chess Classes - Junior School

Do you want your child to experience the benefits of learning chess while having fun along the way? Designed especially for children in Prep and above, Chess Mates classes are fun, interactive and tailored by our teachers to suit the students in each class. While your child will still learn that winning can be fun, they’ll also learn a whole lot more! In fact, chess can help your child develop socially, academically, and emotionally.

When: Wednesday Lunch, 1:20-2:00pm
