National Simultaneous Storytime

This week Junior School students joined in with over 2 million other children across Australia and New Zealand to participate in National Simultaneous Storytime and hear the story Family Tree by Josh Pike. We had some special guests come and read the story to the students, including Mr Altmann, Mrs Blackwell, Mrs Clements and some of our Year 12 students. Classes enjoyed getting together with their buddies and other year levels to share in an activity after the reading.

Fuse Cup

On May 19, four of our Year 5/6 students attended the Brisbane Primary Schools Fuse Cup, an inter-school eSports competition. This term the game played was Mario Kart Deluxe 8. Sixty-four students took part in the heats, with all four of our students (Jake M, Lewis M, Jackson B and Sam C) progressing to the final 16 and two making it all the way to the Grand Final. In a very exciting four race final, Jackson B placed 3rd and Jake M came home with the 1st place trophy! Jake will go on to play in the state competition in Term 4. Well done to all four students in the team – it was great to see them working together and representing the College so well. We are looking forward to seeing our Year 4, Year 7/8 and Year 9/10 Fuse Cup teams compete in coming weeks.

Junior School Chess Competition

On Tuesday, June 14, Chess Mates will be coming to the Junior School to run a free Chess Competition for us from 10:30am-2:00pm. Children from Prep-6 are able to participate in 2 separate divisions. Those who wish to participate do not need to be attending chess classes, but they will need a knowledge of the basic rules and be able to play a game independently. Please see the attached flyer for more details, including a QR code to register your child for the competition.

Overdue Books

You may receive emails or notices from time to time about overdue books. Your attention to these is much appreciated. Students with overdues may not be permitted to borrow further books until those loans are returned.
