Music T1 W2 2021

Welcome Back! Instrumental Music is up and running from this week!

We have a strong instrumental music program here at Faith and this year sees exciting opportunities as we welcome our new piano tutor into the team. Returning this year are Ms Lauren Foster - Strings, Miss Gabriella Gigante – Percussion, Mr Tim Gaze – Guitar, Mr Samuel Lower – Brass and Woodwind and Ms Claire Candy – Voice (returning from Maternity leave) to Faith.

Introducing our new piano tutor…..

Mrs Christine James-Pearson is an enthusiastic piano teacher with over a decade of teaching experience behind her. Over that time, she has taught piano to all ages both in groups and privately across the greater Brisbane and Ipswich area. She has also taught music in a classroom, co-ordinated several school choirs in addition to teaching lessons on drums, guitar, and ukulele.

With piano being her first (and favourite) instrument, Christine is passionate about teaching lessons focussed around supporting each individual student’s interests, whether that be classical piano, jazz or modern music. Developing a student’s love for making music and playing the piano is what inspires her approach to lessons.

Lessons began this week and timetables have been emailed home. If you haven’t received one please let Mrs Altmann know. Places are still available for students to enrol in the Instrumental Music Program for 2021. Enrolments for Term 1 need to be received by Friday, 12 February. Any enrolments after this date will be placed on a waiting list to begin in Term 2. Enrolment forms can be found via the College App under the music button. Ensemble Rehearsal Schedule

Rehearsals begin in Week 3 for both the Junior and Secondary Campuses according to the schedules below.

Junior School Instrumental and Vocal Ensembles – ALL students are welcome to participate in the Junior School Choirs. Instrumentalists are invited to participate in ensembles in consultation with Mrs Altmann.
