Faith Shines Bright Amongst Lutheran Educators

We have had a feeling that something special is happening at Faith. In the Secondary School over the last few years we have seen the redesign of spaces, the launch of a new approach to Year 7 that focuses on the students, implementation of MyPath@Faith that allows students to work across year levels on 72 engaging courses and the development of some excellent and varied pathways in Year 11 and 12.

On Monday this week we had 20 Lutheran Educators from all around Australia come and visit Faith Lutheran College. As part of their visit they spent time in our Year 7 space, spoke to teachers and students about MyPath@Faith, toured the campus and heard about how we actively involve students and use student voice to improve what we do.

One of the best parts of the day was hearing from four of our Year 8 students discuss their experience in Year 7. Our students were so insightful as they highlighted the impact of their foundation year in Secondary. They spoke about how the projects engaged them, how good it was to have access to four teachers in a single space, that presenting at the end of each unit was a great experience and how a terrific sense of cohort was built throughout the year.

It is a testament to the quality of what we do here that, not only do other schools send their staff to visit us, but that several of our programs have been or are going to be implemented in other schools around the country.

If you ever want to find out more about our academic or wellbeing programs please contact Mr David Moore or Mr Anthony Longmire who are the Deputy Head of Secondary School Learning and Deputy Head of Secondary Wellbeing.
