Love in Learning.

It’s been interesting coming into this role straight after a conference on the holidays as I thought I might be able to ease myself into it. However; I looked at the school calendar and WOW, is there a lot happening this term.

Already we have had the Year 7’s present their Science projects to parents and being a science teacher myself it was great to hear them talk about their experiments and really get to see how much they have learnt through this project.

NAIDOC week, this is growing each year with students coming to a greater understanding of our country and its history. The Kangaroo burgers cooked and served by the kids were exceptional.

Next is all the subject information nights for various year levels. The trust that parents place on us is never far from my thoughts in providing the best opportunities for their children. I really find it a privilege to be a part of this and throughout all their schooling.

Lastly so far, the biggest and most outstanding event has been Arts week. Even though I know what is occurring in the preparation, practice and general getting ready, it is still a huge joy to see the passion and commitment from so many kids and staff. Just seeing the smiles on their faces when they perform, and the genuine applause tells me that we have a great community. You know kids are loving it when the music doesn’t work and they say …….."so lets just sing it acapella”. That sends a powerful message to our community about confidence and trust that they have with each other. I look forward to the next few weeks, so stay safe, remain well.

Thank you.
