Outdoor Education

On Monday, 4 October 2021 we farewelled our Year 9 students as they embarked on their four week experience at Mt Binga. On Tuesday, we packed off our Year 11 students to Emu Gully for their leadership camp. These are amazing experiences for all students involved. In fact, the majority of Year 12 Students will talk about Mt Binga as one of the best experiences they have had during their time at the College.

Often though there are nerves from families and students as they approach going on camp so I thought it would be a good time to share some information about our Outdoor Education Program in the Secondary School.

Importance of Outdoor Education

Our Outdoor Education Program gives students an opportunity to shine in a different space. The experiential programs provided allow people to grow, build teams, connect community, and train leaders. We regularly see the benefits of the programs in helping students grow, develop, and have a greater understanding of what they are capable of and supports students ongoing resilience and progress at school and home.

We value the experiences we offer and as such it forms an important part of the curriculum. All our experiences are compulsory. If you would like to learn more, please contact any of our Year Level Coordinators or our Deputy Head of Learning - Mr Tony Longmire.

Last Week for Year 12 students

I wish our Year 12 students all the best as they finish the last week and a bit of formal schooling before they move to their exam block. They have been a fantastic bunch of seniors and brought a lot to our College.
