SLAPS Cross Country

The 2021 Cross Country season was short, but the sharp runners made it exciting to watch. The SLAPS carnival is always the final event and our performance earned us second place overall. It was a great day of running on a challenging course through the bush. Our team supported each other and cheered the finishers across the line to achieve many notable results: 9 Years Boys- 1st place; 9 Years Girls, 10 Years Boys, 11/12 Years Boys- 2nd place; 11/12 Girls- 3rd place.

Congratulations to the runners and the whole squad for a successful carnival.

Secondary School Sport

Secondary Sport continues at top speed with teams playing weekly fixtures in Touch, Basketball, Volleyball and Netball. Players are developing their skills, having fun with friends, keeping fit and active, and are improving with each game.

In addition to the weekly sports, we have had 2 soccer teams competing in the Bill Turner Soccer tournament; 2 teams in the Australian Beach Volleyball Schools Cup; 45 athletes competing at the Bayside District Cross-Country Carnival; and 6 Kokoda teams increasing the kilometres they are walking each week in training!

Eight of our cross-country athletes have qualified for the Metropolitan East Regional Carnival taking place later this month - this is an amazing achievement as many of their races contained 60+ athletes from all the schools in our District!

These are just a few examples of how students can be involved in physical activity at Faith. BEWARE THE FALCON!
