SPORT

Falcon's sports teams across both campuses had a break from competition last week due to the floods and storm action. The only team that played was the U18 Basketball team who won their first fixture of the season! Well done team!

Training was also affected with the oval and courts being too wet and the Beach Volleyball Schools Cup at Coolangatta has unfortunately been postponed. The Redlands Netball Association was also affected by the wet weather and has delayed the start of their competition by one week with grading games now commencing on Saturday 19th March.

We have our Secondary School Big Splash Swimming Carnival on 18th March, which is going to be a fun day. Just a few weeks after that we have our Inter-House Cross Country Carnival taking place at both campuses. Competitive 12-year-old students in Years 6 and 7 will be racing together at the Secondary carnival to vie for a spot in the school team for Districts. There are only 3 spots per gender so competition will be fierce! Lace up those running shoes and get training!!

A reminder that SLAPS carnivals are only for Junior School students. If you are a 12-year-old in Year 7, you are, unfortunately, not eligible to compete.

Those of you in the Secondary College doing the Kokoda Challenge shouldn't be put off by the rain - you still need to get out there and clock up some kilometres - it could be wet on the day, so you'll need to be prepared! Plan for a 15-20km hike this weekend!

Sports Aerobics and the ACE Tennis Program has recommenced at the Junior School this week and students have enjoyed their first sessions. We are hoping to get tennis off the ground at the Secondary College soon, so watch this space!

In the Easter school holidays, Graham Fyfe, soccer coach and former professional player, is running a soccer clinic at the school. Faith students save 10%. If you are interested, please complete the form below:

Students who have nominated for a District or Regional sports trial can find further information on the Bayside District School Sport page on Facebook.

We pray for better weather next week so that sport can recommence, and we wish all teams good luck! Beware the Falcon!
