Year 6

Year 6 at Faith Lutheran College, Redlands provides students with many opportunities to develop their leadership skills. Each student will have a “Leadership Position” where they are able to serve the school community and learn about leadership and responsibility.

Students are also given the opportunity to participate in and help organise Anzac Day and Remembrance Day Services, student assemblies and school chapel services. These events help to develop the students’ leadership skills and to improve confidence and self-esteem.

Early in the year, Year 6 students attend camp. This provides an occasion for students and staff to get to know one another and to develop interpersonal skills and to foster independence and responsibility.

Year 6 is an exciting year as the students prepare themselves for Middle School. Throughout the year, students are developing skills – both organisational and interpersonal – that will allow them to transition smoothly from Junior School to Middle School. Encounter Days at the Middle School give Year 6 students the chance to engage in the Middle School environment and to get a taste of what to expect the following year.
